  1. I can’t vote. There is no positive opoitn. I don’t think there is anything wrong at all with ads on ones blog. To be transparent though, I do sell ads on both of my sites. There is no reason why one shouldn’t be able to make a few bucks off their writing. You have an amazing food blog here, and if you chose to make a few extra bucks of ads, why not! As long as they are relevent, and you don’t mind them, that’s what matters. When you pick up a Martha magazine, there are more ads then content…same thing.

  2. Of the series Old Flames is the one I’ve come back to most often. The vareity of places that are captured are most engaging and feel vividly real for me. It is much more a spy story than one about conventional crime, but I genuinely don’t think it’s any the worse for that.As the series progresses they seem to become less and less about the crime and more about the interconnected lives populating a point in history. This doesn’t pose any sort of problem for me in reading and loving them, largely because of the rich prose and ability to locate them in time and place.I’ll be interested to see what you make of the way the series evolves.
